Before logging in to work that day, I spent nearly an hour talking with my wife, Olga.
We talked about the momentum Pull Up A Couch was gaining as a side business.
We talked about how alive it felt.
How aligned it felt.
I told her,
“In a few months, I’m going to put in my resignation. We’re going to go all in.”
But we were uncertain.
It was a big leap. A family decision.
So Olga said,
“Let’s pray about it and put it in God’s hands.”
We did.
Then I walked back to my desk.
Tried to log in.
Disconnected.
Within hours, I was sitting in HR being told I was part of a company-wide downsizing — with a severance.
What we had just prayed about… had happened.
Not in a few months.
That day.
If that wasn’t a sign pushing us to go all in, we don’t know what would have been.
So we stepped forward in faith 🙏

Garage to Warehouse
We started in our garage in September 2022, cleaning and refurbishing couches by hand and handling every delivery ourselves.
As demand grew, we moved into storage units, then into a small warehouse space in Holliston. It was still hands-on work — just at a larger scale.
That growth showed us something important: if we wanted to keep building, we needed a real showroom and a better path to scale.
The Shift to New Furniture
In 2024 we expanded into a 4,000 sq ft retail space at the front of the warehouse, with showroom windows and parking lot access.
That’s when we started sourcing new furniture from Ashley other manufacturers. For the first time, Pull Up A Couch became a true retail showroom instead of just a storage operation.
We reinvested everything back into the business and kept growing.

The Overstock Chapter
Shortly after opening the new showroom, we also started buying overstock and liquidation couches to offer customers even more amazing deals. Later, Article Furniture approached us to help them sell their customer returns and overstock items.
It was a natural fit for us, so we stepped in and even operated a second pop-up location inside their 30,000 sq ft warehouse in Walpole.
When that facility later closed, we continued sourcing their liquidation inventory — and Pull Up A Couch quickly became known around Boston as the place to find incredible furniture deals on high-quality, mid-century pieces.

Clear Scaling From Here
in 2025, We moved into our current 8,000 sq ft showroom and warehouse in Framingham. With more space, we experimented with dining rooms, bedrooms, and mattresses.
While the business kept growing, we realized our strength wasn’t in offering everything — so we are returning to what built this company: couches, sectionals, and living room furniture done exceptionally well.
Built With Our Community
We’re grateful for every family who’s trusted us with their home — and proud of the community we’ve built along the way.
